Go off what you want to. I speak from the website view by saying, Opie, and Movies by saying Mace. Books that are known, Corran Horn, not known, *winks at Opie* Congrats again master, I have you in my book.
Just kidding, I'd say... My own character, or D'Shal. Yes it is a Sith name, but I liked the idea of bringing a Sith over to the Jedi Way . |

Are we going off of the movies? Or Jedi from the website?
If I chose a favorite Jedi from the movies, it would be Obi-Wan. His style of thinking and combat definitely fit my way of looking at things. Otherwise....probably Opie. He is just cool. |

Just to as a reminder, and for those who don't know.
The new site is http://jedifoundation.com/index.html, so you can register here and get started. I am new too and I got confused at first, but some nice senior members cleared it up for me. So remember have fun and we will see you over at Jedi Foundation. |

Think of the Jedi Foundation as a new and improved Jei Academy Online. It still has the same training format and the same lessons, although many of them are "under construction." You will need to sign up on that one separately. It's a very nice site if you haven't been to it yet. I hope to see you there.

Thank you. That analogy really does help clarify what it is.
About the Jedi Foundation. Is it going to be like this site and if so are the profile usable on both? Or do we need to sign up on that site as well? |

First of all, welcome to the Jedi community. To start with the Force, there is a common analogy that greatly helped me. Think of the Force as an ocean, and think of us ad fish. The Force surrounds us completely, slightly nudging us from time to time, but it does this without consciousness, just like the ocean. The Force also connects us with all things, living or not, thus giving us a sense of harmony with the world, even when it may seem chaotic. As for the "gut feeling," I believe the Force will give us hints here and there. It may be as simple as just happening to see something that reminds you to pick up laundry, and on your way there you fund someone in need (just an example). The Force is rather personal in that each person feels and experiences the Force in their own way, and finding the methods that work for you take months. That is just a short lesson, but there us much more for you to learn in the Academy as well as within yourself. By the way, we are in the process of moving to a new site:
jedifoundation.com Good luck to you in your studieS, whether they are here or somewhere else ![]() |

Hi,
I'm new to this community, and since I am waiting a reply from the Council about acceptance, I want to ask a question that is really basic. To start my journey. What is the Force? Is is something we all have to find for ourselves and as such is it relative? Or is it similar to the magnetic field that all living creatures naturally create? My initial thought was that the force is similar to a field that is generated inside of all living creatures and "talks" to them through the "gut feeling," response to situations. I know that the force isn't a sentient being per se but is this "gut feeling" something others experience? I know those are all relativity deep questions so sorry about that. It's pretty late so my brain might have only been partialy working !! |
